Stepping Out Of The Margins:Black Women Reading & Writing Creatively

Do you dabble in creative writing whilst at the same time gathering inspiration from a good book? This could be the perfect programme for you! Register your interest now for this stimulating  six-session introductory course starting in September. 

Participants will explore literary extracts  and poetry from the work of published Black women writers from across the diaspora. By delving into the ideas, styles and messages of these pieces we will examine their relevance to our own lived experiences today and allow them to act as a point of inspiration to nurture our own creative outlets through the written word.

Course Details

The programme will run  once a month between September and February and sessions can be attended in person at Birmingham s MyBookbasket shop or online over Zoom. This means you can join us regardless of your location! Each session will run for 2 hours but in-between the sessions is where your creativity has a chance to flow as you interact with the course material and share your own creative efforts whilst enjoying those of other participants via the programme blog. 

All course material will be provided by email or online sources and participants will have access to special discount codes for certain reading list books purchased from MyBookbasket during the duration of the programme.
