This crewel wool is lovely to use. It has long, soft wool fibres giving a smooth handle to the yarn – no scratchy wool here! It is evenly spun, unlike so many wools, and gives beautiful definition to your crewel embroidery – your stitching will improve so much just by trying this yarn.
The manufacturers say: “Plant and natural dyes give a light and tonal vibrance to your work that cannot be matched by staid chemical dyes and they help not only protect you and yours but the environment as well” – and I agree wholeheartedly.
I take great care to make the colours appear as true as possible, but please be aware that the settings of your computer screen may change their appearance. If you need to match something precisely, please send a sample to avoid disappointment.
Dye lots will vary with all threads, but naturally dyed threads are particularly prone to this so I recommend that you buy plenty of yarn if you are working on a large project.
